Talent – BBC Scotland
TALENT
‘Talent’ is the heartwarming tale of four hopeful film and TV extras and their ever-faithful agent as they vie for a piece of the action in Scotland’s burgeoning entertainment industry.
Flanked by French bulldog Bruno and dressed to impress, Sonia is an agent like no other – with over 5000 people on her books from octogenarian stuntmen to naked body doubles, she finds the extraordinary in the ordinary. For Sonia, talent comes in many forms…
We meet four hopeful performing artists: Davey, Brianne, Evans, and Emma, regular people from different walks of life looking for something extra – confidence, acceptance, escapism – and ultimately, their moment.
They may not be the stars of the show (yet), but with Sonia in their corner, it’s time for the people in the background to step into the spotlight.
The film is inspiring, life-affirming and at the heart of it is the importance of chasing your dream and realising that everyone has something to offer. It is directed by BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Hannah Currie who has built up a reputation for making thoughtful documentaries that take on sensitive human stories. This is her first TV hour and most ambitious project to date.
‘Talent’ is STREAMING NOW on BBC iPlayer.
