A View From The Terrace | Series Three
The 2020/21 Scottish football season was like no other as A View From the Terrace returned for a third consecutive commission in the midst of a global pandemic.
With so many stuck at home we challenged ourselves to provide an hour-long hug of entertainment at a time when we all had to be so distant.
In the studio, the presenters may have moved into their own socially distanced chairs but the chemistry still sizzled as their distinct personalities continued to emerge with even more guests joining in the fun. We used our growing social media presence to increase viewer engagement outside of our one hour on a Friday with the launch of the #AVFTTBreakfastClub.
Under tight restrictions, we had to think smart and work safely not only in the studio but also to produce VT’s that took note of the mood of a nation whilst looking to provide hope and joy. We delved into the world of archive to produce a two-part epic about a club that their fans would refuse to let die, harnessed the power of Zoom to tell compelling stories, and sought out new and unique voices as we sought to understand why Scottish football was kneeling.
Our ability to create human interest stories that pushed beyond Scottish football saw us work with Football Focus, sharing some of our favourite films to a UK-wide audience as we continued to showcase the best of emerging Scottish film and music along the way.
A series that will serve as a time capsule to a season we never saw coming, showing what can be achieved during the most challenging of times.
