A View From The Euros
Back at the party
Following a successful third season of A View From the Terrace we were delighted to receive a commission to produce three specials celebrating Scotland’s men’s national football team’s first appearance at a major championship since 1998 with A View From the Euros.
With three episodes and a whole tournament to pack into them, we took the opportunity to push ourselves and the presenters’ tastebuds to the limit. We played to our strengths as football fans, leaving dry analysis on the bench and focusing on fun getting to know our Euro rivals by giving these a distinct feel. That’s not to say we didn’t have an opinion as some special guests joined the studio to talk through the action.
Our VT’s provided a unique fan-focused view of the tournament from the couple who found love in Kazakhstan and the tartan enclave of Corby in England to the kids experiencing Scotland at a major tournament for the very first time. We even got a diagnosis of Euros fever from football sceptic and BAFTA Scotland winning director Duncan Cowles and his good friend Duncan heading for the fan zones.
A View From the Euros was much more than football, it was about being Scottish and what it meant to finally have an invite to the biggest party of the summer.
